Bradley Surveying has an immediate opening for a Survey Field Assistant (i.e., Rodman). This entry level, hourly position will include assisting with a wide range of field survey duties including topographic survey, construction staking, and boundary surveying for various projects. Work will be performed under the direction and supervision of Survey & Field Technician (i.e., Crew Chief) to which they are assigned.
This is a great opportunity to gain the experience needed to supplement the educational requirements for anyone looking to pursue licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor in Training
Additional job duties may be assigned at the discretion of management. This description is intended to be general and not an exclusive list of all job duties.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Arrive on-time and ready to work as schedule dictates
Carry field equipment and tools weighing up to 50lbs for duration of workday
Be capable of walking up to 5 miles a day
Follow instructions from the Survey and Field Tech and assist with various field duties
Work primarily in an outdoor setting with possibility of exposure to adverse environmental conditions
Show courteousness and professionalism to other Bradley Surveying staff and clientele
Ensure proper work site and vehicle cleanup
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge and skills:
Ability or willingness to learn to operate, maintain and safeguard tools and field equipment such as GPS equipment, Total Station, laser range finder, etc.
Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills and pays attention to detail.
Available to work overtime as needed.
Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude
Patient, team oriented, and responds well to constructive criticism.
