Why do we love old homes?
It is rarely because they are perfect.
We love them because they tell stories.
The worn brass doorknob polished by generations of hands. The original wallpaper hidden beneath newer layers. The craftsmanship in the trim, plasterwork, and details that were built to last.
Older homes remind us that a house is more than lumber and drywall. It is the backdrop for ordinary days, family traditions, celebrations, and life's changing seasons.
Not every old home needs to stay exactly the same. But the best renovations respect what made the house special in the first place.
That is what stewardship looks like: preserving the good, improving what no longer serves, and helping an old home support the next chapter of life.
