Selling your home can feel overwhelming—but avoiding a few common mistakes makes the process much smoother. 🚪✨

Here are 3 big ones to watch out for:
1️⃣ Overpricing – The first impression matters, and pricing too high can turn away potential interest.
2️⃣ Skipping Staging – A clean, well-staged home helps buyers picture themselves living there.
3️⃣ Ignoring Curb Appeal – The outside sets the tone before anyone steps in the door.

Avoid these, and you’ll be set up for a more successful sale! 🙌

What do you think is the hardest part about selling a home?

🏙️ Chicagoland Market Update | May 2026 🏙️
The Chicagoland housing market continued its steady climb in May.
📊 Homes Available: 37,784 (+5% from April)
💰 Median Sales Price: $361,000 (+2% from April)
🏡 Homes Sold: 10,180 (+4% from April)
What stands out?
More homes came to market, more homes sold, and prices continued to rise. That's a sign of a healthy, active market where both buyers and sellers are finding opportunities.
Unlike some markets that are seeing mixed signals, Chicagoland's numbers suggest a market that's expanding rather than slowing. Increased inventory is giving buyers more choices, while continued sales growth shows demand remains strong.
Think of it like rush hour on Lake Shore Drive. There may be more lanes open, but traffic is still moving in the same direction.
Whether you're considering a move across town, relocating to Northwest Indiana, or exploring opportunities throughout the region, understanding market trends is the first step toward making a confident decision.
Have questions about your local market? I'd be happy to help.

Think you need a perfect credit score to buy a home? Not true! ✅

While higher scores may get you better rates, many loan programs accept a range of credit scores. Plus, lenders often help you find ways to improve your score before applying.

The bottom line: perfect credit isn’t required to become a homeowner. 🙌

🌊 Southwest Michigan Market Update | May 2026 🌊
The Southwest Michigan market took a breather in May.
📊 Homes Available: 188 (-32% from April)
💰 Median Sales Price: $277,500 (-8% from April)
🏡 Homes Sold: 36 (-47% from April)
At first glance, those numbers may look dramatic, but markets along the Lake Michigan shoreline often experience month-to-month swings that don't necessarily tell the whole story.
With fewer homes available and fewer homes changing hands, May was a quieter month compared to April. The result was a modest decline in the median sales price as the mix of properties sold shifted.
Think of it like a day at the beach. Some weekends are packed, some are surprisingly calm, but the shoreline itself remains just as desirable.
Southwest Michigan continues to attract buyers looking for lake life, second homes, and weekend escapes. As we move deeper into the summer season, it will be interesting to see whether activity rebounds as more buyers enter the market.
Curious about New Buffalo, Union Pier, Three Oaks, Harbert, or other Southwest Michigan communities? I'd be happy to provide a personalized market update.

The right rug can completely transform a space—adding warmth, texture, and style! Here’s how to pick the perfect one for your home:

📏 Get the Right Fit – Ensure your rug complements your space! In living rooms, it should fit under the front legs of your furniture. In dining areas, extend at least 24 inches beyond the table.
🎨 Color & Pattern – Choose neutral tones for a timeless look or bold patterns to make a statement. Darker hues hide stains, while lighter shades brighten a room.
🧵 Material Matters – Wool is durable and soft, jute adds natural texture, and synthetic blends are great for high-traffic areas.
🏡 Shape & Placement – A round rug softens small spaces, while a rectangular rug helps define larger rooms.

Which style of rug do you love most? Drop your fave below! ⬇️

🌷 Lake County Market Update | May 2026 🌷
The Lake County housing market hit the pause button in May—but prices kept moving forward.
📊 Homes Available: 2,083 (-2% from April)
💰 Median Sales Price: $285,000 (+2% from April)
🏡 Homes Sold: 533 (-8% from April)
What does that mean?
While fewer homes sold in May compared to April, home values continued to climb. Inventory also tightened slightly, suggesting buyers are still competing for well-priced homes in desirable locations.
Think of it like a spring road trip. Traffic may have slowed a bit, but the destination hasn't changed. Buyers are taking a little more time, sellers are adjusting expectations, and the market continues to move forward.
For homeowners, rising prices remain encouraging. For buyers, patience and preparation continue to be important ingredients for success.
Wondering what these trends mean for your neighborhood or your home's value? I'd be happy to provide a personalized market update.

🌷 LaPorte County Market Update | May 2026 🌷
If you've been waiting for the market to slow down, May had other plans.
📊 Homes Available: 413 (-0.5% from April)
💰 Median Sales Price: $270,000 (+14% from April)
🏡 Homes Sold: 115 (+32% from April)
Here's what stands out:
While the number of homes available remained virtually unchanged, buyer activity surged. Homes sold jumped 32% from April, and the median sales price climbed 14%.
Think of it like a busy farmers market. The number of stands didn't change much, but more shoppers showed up—and they were willing to pay more for the produce they wanted.
For homeowners, that's encouraging news. For buyers, it means being prepared and acting decisively when the right opportunity comes along.
Curious what these numbers mean for your neighborhood, Michigan City, Long Beach, or La Porte? Send me a message and I'll be happy to share a personalized market update.
