Home prices have been increasing due to the decrease in inventory. My thoughts are a large majority of short sales have been circulated through. Remember the crash of the market was 7 years ago and many of the people that were affected have already gotten out and have sold to New buyers that are there to stay. Banks are holding on to foreclosures and just slowly trickling them out. With many owners still upside down and not wanting to short sale thus being stuck to stay in their homes the three reasons above have caused the shortage in inventory being many buyers are now seeing prices going up and with the still low interest rates and jumping to purchase now. Every offer I keep presenting for homes are turning in to multi offer bids also escalating prices. I have seen Sellers taking advantage of this to a point that that they are holding out to being next to impossible to negotiate with, well all good but don't get caught with your pants down because if banks decide which I hope they don't, to start pouring the millions of foreclosures they are holding back on the market those sellers will wish they would have been a little more workable.
