HO HO…OH NO! 😱 Can you explain the 5 no-nos indicated on this seemingly picture-perfect holiday scene?

1. Keep your pets at a safe distance from the fireplace: Keep Sparky away from any flying sparks!

2. Keep a 3ft safety area around the fireplace: Continuing with the rationale above, it is recommended to leave a 3 foot zone free of persons, pets and flammable items (decorations, dry flower arrangements, gifts, etc.)

3. Remove any dangling decorations: Remove any stockings or garlands hanging to close to the firebox!

4. Place a fireguard: A fire screen or “spark guard” positioned in front of a fireplace in order to keep flames and hot embers from flying into the room.

5. Where is the fire extinguisher? Keep an extinguisher close-by, make sure you can access it easily, that it is not expired and that members of the household know how to use it in case of emergency!
