In February, I did something a little wild.
I stepped away from my normal routine and went to Honolulu to attend flight attendant training with Hawaiian Airlines.
What I thought would be a fun challenge turned into one of the most rigorous training programs I’ve experienced in years.
We studied multiple aircraft, emergency procedures, evacuation commands, and safety protocols. Three tests every week. Long days. Late nights studying. And the constant reminder that being late, unprepared, or unfocused simply wasn’t an option.
Like many people, I used to think flight attendants were primarily there for service and hospitality.
Now I know better.
They are highly trained safety professionals and first responders responsible for hundreds of lives at 35,000 feet. The discipline and responsibility required is incredible, and I walked away with enormous respect for what they do every single day.
While the adventure didn’t end with me earning my wings, it gave me something even more valuable: perspective.
It reminded me that trying new things matters.
Working your brain matters.
And stepping outside your comfort zone always teaches you something.
It also reminded me how much I love the life and career I’ve built.
Helping people navigate big life transitions, advocating for my clients, and guiding families through the process of buying or selling a home is still exactly where I’m meant to be.
So I’m back. Recharged. Focused. And ready for the next chapter.
Sometimes the best adventures aren’t the ones that change your direction.
They’re the ones that remind you why you chose your path in the first place.
And to the flight attendants out there — you have my full admiration. ✈️.
Turns out turbulence at 35,000 feet isn’t the only place strategy matters.
