40 years ago today, Mount St. Helens erupted, spewing hot rock, gas, and ash across Southwest Washington, killing 57 people and forever altering the landscape surrounding the monument. Our communities still feel the effects of this historic eruption today.
Mount St. Helens also provides an excellent recreational resource for folks in Southwest Washington, and for those who travel from all corners of the globe to marvel at its beauty.
I’m curious, if you’re old enough to remember, where were you when Mount St. Helens erupted, and what do you remember from that day? Let me know in the comments
