Why the First 5 Minutes of a Showing Matter More Than Most Buyers Realize

When buyers walk into a home, opinions often start forming before they've even seen every room.

In fact, many people develop an initial emotional reaction within the first few minutes of arriving at a property. While that reaction can be helpful, it's important to remember that first impressions don't always tell the whole story.

Things that often influence those early impressions include:

✔️ The condition of the driveway and exterior
✔️ Landscaping and curb appeal
✔️ The entryway and first room you see
✔️ Natural light and ceiling height
✔️ Overall cleanliness and presentation
✔️ How the home "flows" from one room to the next

The challenge is that first impressions can sometimes cause buyers to overlook features they may love later in the showing.

For example, a buyer may initially feel uncertain about a home's décor, only to realize later that the layout, location, and features are exactly what they've been searching for.

For buyers:
• Take your time and view the entire property before making judgments
• Focus on the home's structure, layout, and potential rather than easily changed cosmetic details
