***RAIN REPORT FRIDAY 7/17/2026****
We've had some relief from the rains overnight and this morning. Water levels continue to recede, roadways are opening up and we are slowly drying out after a wet week! Still chances of rain although it does seem that the bigger and widespread events are behind us for now. We will continue to monitor though and www.drivetexas.org is the best place to monitor roadways! Overall this event will be a huge blessing to our Canyon and the Sabinal Rivershed. The remaining summer season will be very good water wise!!!

***RAIN UPDATE 4pm 7/16/2026****
Early this morning we had had significant rain that caused some flash flooding here at FoxFire! We ended up with 5.1 inches total so far and at the current time the rain has subsided. The river got over the 187 bridge here for a while but has now receded significantly in the last couple of hours. No damages here ... many lower water crossings are still impassable at this time. We are praying that we are getting to the backside of this weather event now but will continue to monitor the situation! The Sabinal Canyon has needed a good soaking rain for quite some time ... we are grateful that there has only been some wariness and travel inconveniences so far here for us and our guests!

*** RAIN UPDATE- 7/15/2026 1pm****
We have had an additional 2.6" of beneficial rain in the last 24 hours here at FoxFire Cabins. That brings our total rainfall this week to 4.1" so far. Currently the rain has stopped but there is still considerable chances of more rain to come. We are North (and upstream) of the areas along the Sabinal and Frio Rivers that have received much more rainfall this week. There are many low water crossings that are impassable right now so travel is the biggest concern currently. We are continuing to watch the weather closely until this event is over! Please feel free to give as a call if you have questions or concerns!
