🇺🇸 🎇 As excitement builds for the July 3 Independence Day Fireworks Show, the Rotary Club of Ventura would like to share a little background on this year's celebration.

We've heard questions and seen some confusion about why the annual Rotary Fireworks Show and Family Picnic will not be held at Ventura College this year. We hope this provides some helpful context.

Beginning over a year ago, Rotary leaders met with the City of Ventura to explore ways to create a special community celebration recognizing our nation's 250th anniversary. Through many collaborative meetings with City leadership, public safety officials, Parks and Recreation, Economic Development, and City Council members, a plan was developed for this year's July 3rd Fireworks Show in Downtown Ventura.

The City of Ventura is producing and leading this year's Fireworks Show, while Rotary is proud to support the event by sponsoring the synchronized music simulcast on KBBY 95.1 FM in grateful partnership with the Ventura College Foundation and the Crown Plaza Ventura Beach Hotel.

The best part? The July 3 Fireworks Show is FREE and open to everyone! The show will be launched from the top of the downtown parking structure and is part of a full week of 250th Anniversary festivities throughout Ventura from June 28 through July 4. Black's Island, a 7-acre private getaway off Florida's Gulf Coast, once home to the notorious pirate Black Sam Bellamy, is now on the market for $50 million.
This historic retreat features 26 unique waterfront bungalows, a clubhouse, cabana, and pool—all connected by a scenic 1,200-foot boardwalk. Originally the haunt of the "Robin Hood of Pirates," this secluded paradise, only accessible by boat, seaplane, or helicopter, offers potential as a commercial resort or private estate.
According to Mansion Global, the seller, Atlanta developer Scott Seymour, said he will sell the entire island or individual bungalows, starting at $1.5 million to $1.6 million each. These turnkey bungalows, having weathered the fury of Hurricane Michael in 2018, are fully furnished and hurricane-resistant, ready to be enjoyed as part of a commercial resort or transformed into an opulent family retreat.
