I’m so happy I finally finished my four year brokers license re-examinations. If I were being honest, it was a lot more challenging than I recall. They’ve added more tests. It’s more rigorous. At first, the class implicit and explicit bias frustrated me, then I realized how important items such as Civil rights advocacy, Americans with disability act was for my buisness and me personally. Moreover, the Unruh Civil Rights Act (California Civil Code Section 51) provides protection from discrimination by all business establishments in California, including housing and public accommodations.
I found it interesting that most of the civil rights cases in the US are in the category of people with disabilities. I was reminded why 20 years ago I chose to get my Special Education teaching credential, because I’m passionate about advocacy and enjoy helping people in public service.
I know what you’re thinking, “Why did I get into real estate rather than become a special education teacher”? I will let you answer that question yourself in the comments lol. The truth is that I still get to serve people and make sure that they feel well advocated for! There are so many important factors that go into buying/ selling property, that understanding ethics and civil rights law, has been an enormous benefit!
