Growing up, my parents told me to eliminate one word from my vocabulary: "luck." Because success isn’t luck; it’s work + experience. It’s showing up when no one’s watching. ✨
They put me to work from the time I was little. What started as stamping letters at their big conference table turned into cleaning the office at night when "no one could see me". 🐝
The moment I hit the legal working age I got my first "real" job at the Vero Beach Book Center Cafe (still the best job I ever had + where I tried my first sip of coffee). This is a soft petition to bring it back (iykyk). 📚☕️
During high school I worked at Panera Bread 🥖 I still bring my laptop there to get work done, + let life sink in (above). Side note, the 20 lbs. I gained from all the free bread + chocolate chip cookies nearly took your girl out. 🍪
During college my friends + I worked at Victoria's Secret Upselling men with Rapture giftsets during Christmastime was our Olympic sport. 🔥
I keep the lessons + skills I learned from each job in my back pocket + whip them out every day.
