THROWBACK THURSDAY AT THE LAKE
Remembering the incredible Bob Morgan, the "Kansas Bad Man" whose legendary career roared through over 100 races, leaving an indelible mark on powerboat history! Starting in the 1960s on the California coast, Bob quickly earned his nickname by dominating drag boat races, pushing speeds up to 152.9 mph before moving to Lake of the Ozarks in '87 to found Big Thunder Marine. Bob's competitive fire continued to burn offshore with his legendary boat, "Bad Moon Risinβ." He became a household name at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, capturing Top Gun titles in 1991 and 1995, along with multiple World Championships in Key West and Argentina. Even in 2009, Bob was still setting the bar high, reaching an astonishing 171 mph. Although his remarkable journey came to a tragic end in 2011, Bob Morgan's legacy lives on through the racers he inspired, the records he set, and the passion for boating he shared with countless people.
