And just like that, the 3rd winter season comes to an end. Today is the last official day of the 2025/2026 winter season. We were open more days these 5 months than either of the previous two. It was a LONG season! Among our guests we had regulars, new faces, and didn't see some we saw in the years past. Among our volunteers we had new people join, and we lost some. Lots of different people come through here whether its in service or need.

We are so thankful that funding this season was easily met! Stocking food items, bedding, hand warmers, paper products, etc. was also well done. Mostly because of our great community! Thank you to each one who donated, served, or prayed for this ministry. It wouldn't be possible without you!

Our greatest need was/is volunteers. WE. NEED. HELP. Please reach out if you are available to staff an overnight shift. Help us get the word out so people who can serve know about this opportunity!

The summer season begins June 1st and runs until August 31st. We are open from 11:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on days when temps are 90 degrees or higher.

It's been a while!!! We've been taking a much needed break and enjoying this weather! Alas, it's Kentucky, so tomorrow and Tuesday are going to get quite chilly! I've been in contact with some people, and we are expecting at least 4 to join us. Setting up everything tonight we know this is the last time we'll set up this season. If you're on the email list, I'll send an update soon. Thank all of you for your generous support. We love y'all. And, we'll leave the light on. ❤️

We have been open 23 nights in a row! The most total nights we have ever served in a season was 55. We hit 55 nights this season 3 nights ago. We have had 2 volunteers fall on ice while coming in to serve. We have fought illness and injury. Nobody welcomes the brief reprieve this week more than we do!!! Pray for supernatural rest, recuperation, healing, and strength as we still have another month and a half left of this season!

I just want to give a shoutout to my team! We are always in need of volunteers, we run this ship on a skeleton crew! I usually work all the week day shifts, and get Friday and Saturday off to try and recoup. It's not ideal, but without volunteers, it is what it is.

Early this week, I got sick. Like, go to the doc, get meds, powerful infection sick. Uh-oh. My team stepped up and have covered every night since Wednesday, and are still covering through Saturday. These are LONG hours. These nights steal your days, and if they don't, they steal your sanity! Lol! Back to back serving for my volunteers is against my rules, it's just too much. And yet, this week, they're killing it. I've been home since Wednesday morning, resting, hydrating, giving meds time to work. And they have been standing in the gap, without complaint.

I told my doctor, "I can't go down. The Station will close. I don't have the extra people to cover all the hours I put in. I can't go down!" I feel so foolish about that now. God said, "I will give you rest. And I will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint."

My team is faithful, obedient to their faith, and this week was hard, maybe the hardest we've ever had. But they did it with love. And there aren't words to express the gratitude and peace that came with handing off the mantle to them this week. ❤️
