Well, it is official. I am retired!! I am going to keep this short. It was definitely a roller coaster ride full of tremendous highs and very difficult and emotionally demanding situations. There are always things I wish I would have done differently but I wouldn’t trade my service to my country and state for anything. I’ve met some incredible people who have influenced my life greatly whether they know it or not. The majority of my service for the last decade was spent on the US/Mexico border. I have worked with Counter Drug Aviation Element, as a liaison for Department of Defense to Department of Homeland Security, Battle NCO and Flight Operations Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the entire Southwest Border Mission. To all my friends and family that have supported me along the way, I am truly grateful. It’s hard to explain my service to most. Even other veterans do not fully understand the depth of my position and mission scope on the US border that I sacrificed my time away from my family for. To those amazing Army pilots and crew chiefs in the 60’s and 72’s, fly safe and God speed. To DPS Aviation, Rangers SRT, BORTAC, Texas PW, Air Marine Operations,DHS, DEA, FBI, CID, Task Force 1 and local LEO’s I’ve worked with over the years, you are true Texas Heroes!! To my peeps from 2-227 ACB 1CD, we had a blast, maybe too much fun!! If you ain’t CAV, you ain’t sh**!! In a few years, when I think it’s safe, I’ll share some of the crazy and stupid things we got into. I have so many pictures and videos, but I just need to pull them all together.
