Finish One Thing You've Been Putting Off

🍫 Wild & Rooted Homestead Table | HEALTHY SNICKERS

If you have a sweet tooth but also like knowing exactly what goes into the food you're eating, these Homemade Date Snickers are such a good little treat. 🥜

Dates are naturally sweet and chewy with an almost caramel-like texture, which makes them the perfect base. Stuff them with peanut butter and crunchy peanuts, coat them in your favorite melted chocolate with a little coconut oil, and finish with a sprinkle of sea salt.

That's it. Simple ingredients, very little work, and something you can keep tucked away in the fridge or freezer when the craving for something sweet hits.

I especially love recipes like this because eating more intentionally doesn't have to mean giving up the foods we enjoy. Sometimes it's simply about finding a way to make them at home with ingredients we choose.

🌿 GRATITUDE & REFLECTION

How often are we waiting for something to happen before we allow ourselves to fully appreciate our lives?

When the house is finished. When there's more money. When work slows down. When we reach the goal. When the difficult season passes. When whatever we're waiting for finally arrives.

Meanwhile, life is happening right now.

There is something beautiful about learning to notice the small things that are already here: a quiet cup of coffee, sunlight coming through the window, dinner around the table, something growing in the garden, the sound of someone you love laughing, or simply waking up to another day.

Gratitude doesn't require everything to be perfect. It asks us to become attentive enough to recognize what is good while life is still unfinished.

There will always be something we're working toward, something we're changing, or another chapter waiting for us. But I don't want to become so focused on creating a beautiful tomorrow that I overlook the beauty already tucked into today.

So this Sunday, I'm reminding myself to pay attention.

There is joy here.
There is goodness here.
There is something to be grateful for here.

❤️ HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY

Today I'm celebrating the grandparents who help shape our families, share our histories, and give us memories that can last long after childhood is gone.

I was blessed with three sets of grandparents in my family. Three of my grandparents passed before I ever had the opportunity to meet them, but they are still part of my family's story and part of the generations that came before me.

I was incredibly fortunate to have Grandma June and Grandpa Sal, who were amazing examples in my life and showed me so much through the blessed life they lived.

And today I'm especially thankful for my Nanny, my last surviving grandparent, who just celebrated an incredible 93 years of life! 🎉❤️ What a gift it is to still have her here to celebrate.

Whether your grandparents are still here to hug and call today, live on through the stories your family tells, or are people you carry lovingly in your memories, today is for celebrating them.

To all the grandparents, bonus grandparents, and people who have lovingly stepped into that role for someone else:

How Close Do You REALLY Want Your Neighbors?

When people make their home-buying wish list, they'll usually tell me how many bedrooms they want, how much acreage they'd like, whether they need a garage, and what school district or general area they're considering.

But there's another question worth asking:

How close do you actually want your neighbors? 🌳🏡🌳

For some people, a neighborhood is exactly where they want to be. They enjoy seeing people outside, having other homes nearby, taking walks through the neighborhood, and feeling connected to the community around them.

Others want to step onto the back porch in their pajamas with a cup of coffee and see absolutely nobody. 😂

And then there's a whole lot of room in between.

You might not need 20 acres to have privacy. Sometimes a wooded lot, the position of the house, surrounding topography, a longer driveway, or even a few strategically placed trees can completely change how private a property feels.
