Because builders use their own specialized sales contracts, handling a low appraisal on a new build looks different than on a resale home. Here are your main options:

1️⃣ Negotiate the Price: Request that the builder lower the purchase price to match the appraised value. While builders rarely cut base prices to protect neighborhood comps, they may offer price reductions or flex cash.
2️⃣ Cover the Difference: Pay the appraisal gap out-of-pocket at closing if you have the funds available and want to keep the deal moving.
