📢Starting August 17th, Realtors can no longer show properties to buyers without a signed buyer’s agency agreement prior to looking at any homes. Whether exclusive or non-exclusive, this agreement is now required before they can even unlock the door. Failing to comply could lead to hefty fines for us. 💰

A buyer's agency agreement legally binds you to a specific agent for an agreed-upon timeframe, outlines their compensation, and details their responsibilities to you. Just like sellers, buyers now need to officially hire their agent. We’ve always operated this way, asking our buyers to sign an agency agreement and hire us, knowing that our compensation might come from them if the seller wasn’t offering it.

Sellers can still pay a buyer’s agent commission, however, this information is no longer listed in the MLS and will now be negotiated in the contract with the other offer terms.

Just like you wouldn’t expect an electrician or plumber to work for free, the same applies to real estate agents. Our time and expertise is valuable.
