History belongs to all of us.
Over the past several months, the Tiki Island Community Foundation has been gathering photographs, maps, newspaper articles, documents, and stories that help tell the story of Tiki Island, Galveston County, and our coastal heritage.
Recently, we’ve added items such as these historic maps to the growing Tiki Island Heritage Collection.
But preservation is not something one organization can do alone.
It takes families who save photographs.
It takes neighbors who share stories.
It takes historians, libraries, museums, archives, and community organizations working together to ensure our history is never lost.
Our vision is to preserve Tiki Island’s story while supporting the broader history of Galveston County and the Texas coast through collaboration, education, and community engagement.
Every map.
Every photograph.
Every document.
Every story.
Together, they help tell the story of where we’ve been—and inspire where we’re going.
