Cambridge is building up—and digging deep.
A $1.84 billion energy project beneath Kendall Square includes a 35,000-square-foot electrical substation reaching 105 feet below the surface. Above ground, plans call for a 37-story residential tower expected to become Cambridge’s tallest building, along with a future public park and continued life-sciences development.
It’s a powerful example of how major growth depends on the infrastructure supporting it.
