Yesterday Dan traveled to Des Moines to take part in the annual Iowa Land Title Association’s Legislative Breakfast at the State Capitolol.
Dan said it was one of the best he’s been to in the last 10 years! Thanks to all who planned and attended. It’s so important to be face to face with the people who represent you. We’d like to still believe that matters and not just the 💰 that talks!

It was also great to have some time to wonder around a little. It’s such an amazing building, one of the top 3 State Capitols in the nation. The Law Library was an amazing sight.

After the Capitol, Dan stayed for the ILTA Board Member’s meeting with about 16 months left of serving as VP of the Northeast Region. We’re thankful for all the time that the board members and Executive Director dedicates to insuring the continued security of the title industry in Iowa and preserving Abstracting as an an essential part of keeping YOUR property rights safe!

What a night for Benton County girls’ basketball!
Vinton-Shellsburg upsets the defending champion, who is also the top scoring team in the state, and then Benton Community records their first win at the State Tournament ever!
Way to go all involved! Sets up an all Benton County semifinal rematch.

About this time 5 years ago, the crews were getting ready to finally turn the water off. What a difference 5 years makes. We want to thank the First Responders who stayed all night in the freezing cold to help save our building.

So saddened to see this first thing Saturday morning. If you live near Riverside Park and have cameras, please check them. Everyone else, keep your ears open, whoever did this will talk or try it again.
Please keep the employees of the Parks Dept in your thought as well as they have to deal with this on top of their already busy summer planning.
