🎷 Jazz Fest is still ON — just with a change of scenery!

Due to inclement weather, the 43rd Annual Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival has officially been moved indoors to Scope Arena for this weekend. 🎶☔️

📍 NEW LOCATION: Scope Arena | Norfolk
📅 August 21–22
🎷 Two nights of live jazz
☔️ Rain or shine — the music goes on!

So while the waterfront views may have to wait, one of Norfolk’s signature summer traditions is still bringing the music, energy, and smooth jazz vibes to the 757. ✨

👇 Who’s still heading to Jazz Fest this weekend?

🍷 So how does Williamsburg’s new Sip & Stroll actually work?

It’s pretty simple. 👇

Grab an alcoholic drink from a participating Merchants Square business, make sure it’s served in an official DORA cup, and you can take it with you as you stroll, shop and explore within the designated area. 🛍️✨

A few things to know before you go:
🍷 Open daily from 12–9 PM
🥤 Drinks must be in an official DORA cup
📍 Stay within the marked DORA boundaries
🛍️ Look for signage to see which shops allow drinks inside
🚫 You can’t bring outside alcohol into the district
🥂 Drinks are limited to 16 oz. per cup
🔞 21+ only

The designated area currently covers one block of Merchants Square along Duke of Gloucester Street between College Corner and Henry Street.
The program is being tested through June 30, 2027 — and depending on its success, Williamsburg could continue, expand or discontinue it.

Virginia is having a moment. 👏📈

From major employers and growing industries to our ports, military community, universities and small businesses, there’s a lot happening across the Commonwealth.

And now Virginia has another reason to celebrate landing among the Top 3 states in America for business in CNBC’s 2026 rankings.

For us, the best part is seeing how much of Virginia’s momentum is happening right here in the 757. 🌊
More businesses. More investment. More opportunities. And plenty more growth ahead.

The perfect day in Norfolk, planned for you. ✨📍

From breakfast and glassblowing to waterfront views, local eats + a sweet stop to end the night, here’s how we’d spend a full day exploring one of our favorite cities in the 757:

🥯 Breakfast at The Bird The Bird
Start the morning with coffee + one of their seriously good breakfast sandwiches.

🔥 Take a glassblowing class at the Chrysler Museum Chrysler Museum & Glass Studio
Try something a little different and create your own piece at the museum’s Glass Studio.

Because a perfect day absolutely calls for an over-the-top grilled cheese.

⚓ Explore Nauticus + tour the Battleship Wisconsin Nauticus 🛟
Walk the decks, take in the waterfront views + experience one of Norfolk’s most iconic attractions.

🍽️ Farm-to-table dinner at Codex Codex_VA
Slow things down with a locally inspired dinner in the heart of the city.

🍨 Stroll Colley Avenue + grab gelato at Strawberry Fields Strawberry Fields
The sweetest way to end the day.

Virginia is making moves. 👏

Virginia has been ranked the number 3 Top State for Business in 2026 by CNBC, landing among the top states in the country for companies, workers and economic opportunity.

From our ports and military presence to growing industries, major employers and communities across the Commonwealth, Virginia continues to prove it’s a competitive place to live, work and do business. 📈

And here in Hampton Roads, we get a front-row seat to so much of that growth. 🌊

💬 What do you think makes Virginia a great place to live AND do business?

Plans for the Newport News Seafood Market are giving us a first look at what could become one of the city’s newest places to eat, gather, shop local, and enjoy the waterfront. This image was produced courtesy of Work Program Architects.

Located at the Seafood Industrial Park, the market is planned to include:
🦐 Fresh local seafood + a large seafood counter
🍽️ Raw bar + prepared food vendors
🍹 A beverage bar
🛍️ Vendor stalls supporting local entrepreneurs
🌿 Outdoor plazas + gathering spaces
🎶 Space for live performances, events & pop-up markets
🌊 A boardwalk connection to the working waterfront
⛵ Public boat access planned alongside waterfront improvements

And the design itself pays homage to Newport News’ maritime and industrial history while creating a new community gathering place for the East End.

The vision goes beyond a seafood market. It’s designed to become a place where locals and visitors can eat, gather and experience the Newport News waterfront. ⚓️

💬 Could you see this becoming a new 757 waterfront hangout?
