Juneteenth is considered a "second Independence Day" for the United States. While July 4th marks the nation's independence from British rule, it did not grant freedom to Black Americans, making June 19th the date that truly embodies universal emancipation and the ongoing pursuit of civil rights.

We are grateful for the diverse residents, families, employees, and communities who enrich our lives every day. Happy Juneteenth!
