And often, it's not just the homeowner trying to figure everything out. Adult children and family members are right there helping make decisions about what stays, what goes, where to move, and what needs to happen with the house.

The good news is, you don't have to figure it all out at once.

I put together this short video breaking the downsizing process into 3 simple steps that can help make the transition a little more manageable.

This is also the beginning of a series I'll be putting together on downsizing, decluttering, and preparing a longtime family home for sale.
