Each step in the process has its own challenges, and sometimes they can seem confusing or even frustrating. By preparing my clients and guiding them through each step from start to finish, I make the transaction go much more smoothly. The most i

mportant aspect to me is that my clients enjoy the process and maybe even have a few laughs along the way! I was born and raised in Virginia Beach; after graduating from Frank W. Cox High School and the University of Richmond, I worked in the NFL for eight years holding positions in public relations, marketing, administration and football operations. I returned home in 2010 and became an energetic supporter of the community through several charitable organizations including the Roc Solid Foundation, the Mermaid Circle of the VBCU, which supports the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and Sons and other local children's charities, The Charity Bowl Football Game, the We Promise Foundation, the Begin Again Foundation, the ziMS Foundation and many more. I joined the real estate industry in October 2012 creating a team with my mother, Karen O’Brien, who has been a well respected and recognized agent in the industry for more than 34 years. As a multiple-time recipient of the Circle of Excellence Award, she has helped mentor me toward being an effective and successful Realtor®.

⚾️ FREE BASEBALL TICKETS?! Yep … still a thing. And we’re doing it again this season.

Wayne and I are proud season ticket holders for the Norfolk Tides, and one of our favorite traditions every year is sharing the experience with friends, family … and all of you.

This season we’ve got SIX seats to play with:

🎟 Four in Section 101
🎟 Two behind home plate on the Concourse

And just like past seasons, I’m giving them away throughout the year ... No catch, no strings, just baseball, good times, and a night at Harbor Park.

Some of my favorite memories live at that ballpark. Games with my mom and dad, nights with Wayne (aka Rip Tide), and a whole lot of laughs with friends over the years.

Keeping that tradition going and making new memories with people in this community ... Is exactly why I keep doing this.

Joy in the sometimes difficult places.

These are the pillars I’m carrying with me into this new era of Erin O’Brien.

Today, we’re rounding out the all-new branding suite with a little “Light on the Sea,” illustration. Little glimmers of light in an abstract, coastal scene.

It’s luminous with depth. It’s glittery while contrasting the shadows from the fathoms below.

It’s the exact encapsulation of the Erin O’Brien brand: audacious joy with exceptional Real Estate know-how.

There are days, moments, when Realtors best prove their salt. And, to me, knowing I can bring joy and fun into an industry where there is a lot of opportunity for things to go sideways is what it’s all about.

Just like the sea can be full of surprises, and life itself can sometimes feel abstract, there are always glimmers of light.

I think we should celebrate them, don’t you?

Over the last few days of unveiling the new brand, I’ve had so much fun showing the world the depth and story that’s been driving my business forward. I’m carrying this new identity into the future. Diet Coke and spreadsheets in tow.

As you can see, it’s not so much about selling homes, it’s about creating connections that stick.

It’s about celebrating what’s in front of you. Hoping for the best in front of you. And honoring those who’ve helped you along the way.

Let’s go back to the beginning.

Back to the legacy that got all of this fun rebranding and ethos reflection started in the first place.

My story starts with legacy. Two legacies, to be exact.

And to me, they’re both a privilege to carry.

My family history is something I’m genuinely proud of … and its impact is something I strive to live up to date after day.

I’m a second-generation Realtor, following the footsteps of my mother, Karen Oetjen O’Brien, who’s had a longstanding and successful career in the 757.

Dad, The Honorable William R. “Buster” O’Brien, was a collegiate All-American Quarterback with a brief stint in the NFL. He rounded out his professional career as a criminal defense attorney and was eventually appointed Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Virginia Beach.

Both my parents have contributed not only to the community they served, but into the next generation. Their optimism, appetite for excellence and love for public service (and football) is deeply encoded into my DNA.

It’s not something I hold lightly. At all.

Fast forward to today, and I’m here, striving to do the same things in my own way. To honor who my family is, where we’ve come from and to carry that into every aspect of my life and business.

This isn’t surface-level work. This is grounded enthusiasm built on a foundation of deep care and attention to the wellbeing of others.

Don’t mind me. I’m just carrying on a legacy.
