Help Shape the Future of Affordable Housing in Virginia Beach

Do you have a passion for community service, affordable housing, and creating lasting impact?

The Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation (VBCDC) is seeking qualified Virginia Beach residentsto serve on our Board of Directors. This is a volunteer public-service opportunity, with all board members appointed by the Virginia Beach City Council.

As VBCDC celebrates 40 years of strengthening our community, we're looking for dedicated leaders who want to help guide our mission of expanding affordable housing opportunities, supporting families, veterans, seniors, and individuals experiencing housing instability, and building stronger neighborhoods across Virginia Beach.

We're seeking individuals who bring experience in areas such as:
• Affordable housing or real estate
• Finance, law, healthcare, or education
• Business or nonprofit leadership
• Community development
• Philanthropy and fundraising
• Board governance and strategic oversight

Serving on the VBCDC Board is an opportunity to help shape the future of our city, provide strategic leadership, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.

VBCDC is looking for landlords to partner with us in helping veterans and families secure safe, stable housing through our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program.

When you partner with VBCDC, you gain access to qualified tenant referrals, leasing support, case management, and rental assistance (when funding is available)—while making a lasting impact in our community.

Thank you, Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, Chesapeake City Council members Debbie Ritter and Jeff Jefferies, Jr., and Chesapeake Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) leadership for touring Virginia Beach Community Development Corporation (VBCDC)’s Cypress Landing community.

It was an honor to showcase our 50-unit affordable housing property dedicated to serving veterans and their families and share how VBCDC is advancing housing stability across our region.

What a great way to close out the year

Our holiday party was one for the books, complete with our very own Holiday Olympics, and the competition was real. From teamwork and strategy to laughter and plenty of friendly rivalry, our teams showed up ready to win

We were also proud to take time to honor the people who make our organization strong, recognizing our Employee of the Year, Leadership Awardee, Heart of Service Awardee, and Newcomer of the Year. Celebrating these individuals alongside the entire team was a powerful reminder of the talent, dedication, and heart that drive our work forward every day.
