It was an honor to showcase our 50-unit affordable housing property dedicated to serving veterans and their families and share how VBCDC is advancing housing stability across our region.

What a great way to close out the year

Our holiday party was one for the books, complete with our very own Holiday Olympics, and the competition was real. From teamwork and strategy to laughter and plenty of friendly rivalry, our teams showed up ready to win

We were also proud to take time to honor the people who make our organization strong, recognizing our Employee of the Year, Leadership Awardee, Heart of Service Awardee, and Newcomer of the Year. Celebrating these individuals alongside the entire team was a powerful reminder of the talent, dedication, and heart that drive our work forward every day.

At our holiday celebration, we had the honor of recognizing:

🏆 Employee of the Year – Shanika Breeden, Assistant Controller
Shanika’s excellence, consistency, and attention to detail set the standard. Her leadership and dedication behind the scenes keep our organization strong and moving forward.

🌟 Leadership Awardee – Ashley Jarvis, Chief Strategic Officer
Ashley’s vision and steady leadership continue to shape our direction and elevate our impact across the organization.

❤️ Heart of Service Awardee – Heather Chapman, Administrative Services Manager
Heather leads with compassion and commitment every day, embodying service and always showing up for our team and mission.

🚀 Newcomer of the Year – Rico Harrison, Senior Maintenance Technician
Rico made an immediate impact through his professionalism, skill, and strong work ethic, quickly becoming a valued member of our team.

Grateful for a truly competitive, collaborative team that knows how to work hard, support one another, and celebrate together. Here’s to strong culture, meaningful impact, and an even better year ahead.
