Rates moved up again this week (6.97% as of Sept. 9), and mortgage applications cooled off with them. I get it — nobody wants to buy at the “wrong” moment. But after 20+ years watching people freeze up waiting for perfect conditions, here’s my honest take: there’s no perfect rate, only the right payment for your life right now. 🚒 Big change coming for Virginia Beach firefighters!

Virginia Beach City Council has approved a move from an average 56-hour work week to a 48-hour schedule for the city’s fire crews. The goal is to improve firefighter health, recovery time, recruitment and retention—while keeping crews better rested and ready to serve the community. (AOL.com)

The city also authorized 63 new full-time Fire Department positions for the next fiscal year. (AOL.com)

Virginia Beach EMS is using specially designed C**T sensory kits to help patients with autism, sensory sensitivities, developmental delays, and communication challenges feel safer and more comfortable during emergencies.

The kits include things like noise-canceling headphones, sunglasses, fidget tools, communication charts, and comfort items. And they’re already making a real difference — from helping reduce sensory overload to giving non-verbal patients a way to communicate what’s wrong. (Virginia Beach)

It’s a relatively simple idea that can have a huge impact during what may be one of the most stressful moments in someone’s life.

Nobody wakes up one morning just knowing it’s time to sell. 🤷‍♂️
It’s usually a few things adding up:
🧮 the equity you haven’t checked
🔧 the repair list that keeps growing
👨‍👩‍👧 a family that’s changed shape
🚗 a job or commute that doesn’t fit anymore
