🔥🏡 A Safer Home Is a Happier Home!

October 4–10 is Fire Prevention Week, and it's the perfect reminder to take a few simple steps to keep your home and loved ones safe!

Between busy schedules, everyday routines, and everything else that comes with homeownership, it's easy to overlook some of the little things that can make a big difference when it comes to fire safety. 🚒

🚨 Test Your Smoke Alarms: Test alarms monthly, replace batteries when needed, and make sure you have working alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms, and outside sleeping areas.

🚪 Create an Escape Plan: Identify two ways out of every room when possible, establish a safe meeting place outside, and practice your family's escape plan at least twice a year.

🍳 Practice Kitchen Safety: Never leave cooking unattended, keep flammable items away from the stove, and always have a plan for handling a cooking fire.

🧯 Check Your Fire Extinguishers: Make sure your extinguishers are accessible, properly maintained, and appropriate for the types of fires they may be used on. Only attempt to extinguish a small, contained fire when you have a clear escape route.

As we head into fall, the local market is continuing to shift. September brought fewer homes for sale, fewer contracts and closings, a slightly lower median sales price, and a small increase in days on market and overall inventory.

September at a glance:
• 2,335 homes for sale — ↓ 7.1%
• 1,516 new under contract — ↓ 4.8%
• 1,588 homes sold — ↓ 7.4%
• 22 median days on market — ↑ 4.8%
• $360,000 median sales price — ↓ 2.7%
