5 acres in Lorena, SOLD! 🍻

This one’s for those who know what a pivo is and how hard it is to spell and pronounce Zabcikville or Westphalia when someone asks where you’re from.

(You know where Temple is? Head East. Stop at Green’s, etc.) 😂

I sometimes forget how special it is to still belong to a community that remembers my Czech-speaking great-grandmother, Nanny Lillian. Or who remembers my grandpa back when Ray Coots ran around popping wheelies on motorcycles. 😂

Mr. Wilde is part of that world.

There’s something incredibly special about someone who knows where you come from trusting you with something important to their family.

This time, that meant selling the Wildes’ home and 5 acres in Lorena.

There was a lot that went into this sale to make it happen, but what I’ll forever remember are our conversations about land and animals, Westphalia and all its characters, and the Vrazels Polka Band.

These are my people. And getting to do this for them meant a whole lot to me. ❤️

So, of course, we celebrated appropriately.

If you’re looking at Waco and something just isn’t clicking… maybe Waco isn’t actually the answer.

Sometimes when I talk with relocation clients, the best advice I can give them is:

“Let’s look at Temple or Belton.”

Not because Waco isn’t wonderful. It is.

But because your budget, commute, lifestyle, schools, lot size, or community feel might line up better somewhere else in Central Texas.

And that’s the whole point.

Not finding you a house.

Finding you the right place to call home.

Closing #4 with Shane and Rhonda. ❤️

These two are so special to me. They’re like family (technically my sister-in-law’s parents, so we’re practically kin!).

We’ve been through land, building a house, selling a house, buying a house, and more phone calls than I could ever count. Always with a warning- You’re on Speaker Phone!!

And now I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do without my 7 AM texts from Rhonda keeping me company. 😂

Being chosen once is an honor.

Being trusted four different times through four different chapters of life is something I’ll never take for granted.

Shane and Rhonda, thank y’all for trusting me, keeping me company, making me laugh, and letting me be part of the journey. I love y’all!

I’ve heard people say Waco can be tough.

Or, “I wish I would’ve known about that when I moved here.”

The truth is, you don’t know what you don’t know.

As someone who’s lived in Central Texas my whole life, I’ve realized there are quirks about this area that can make it hard to get started actually living here.

Not just finding a house.

Finding a place for your kids swim lessons. Knowing where you can take them to eat that’s actually enjoyable for you! (Amen) Finding a place for date night. Finding your people.

So I started creating guides that I hope will be helpful to people who are new here.

This version is a tiny starter guide to Waco with a few of my favorite places, helpful resources, and spots people ask me about all the time.

Is it complete? Not even close.

Could I make this 47 pages longer? Absolutely.

But if you’re new here, moving here, visiting, or just tired of going to the same three places, this is a good place to start.

Save it for later and send it to someone who could use a few Central Texas recommendations.
