LAKE WACO | Starting Monday, March 31, TxDOT will begin reconstruction of the SH 6 bridges over Lake Waco, also called the “Twin Bridges.” The project will reconstruct and widen both directions of SH 6 over the lake.

The project will replace both bridges with new structures that will provide wider shoulders and future accommodations for three lanes in each direction.

Construction will impact both vehicular traffic on the highway and lake traffic seeking to travel under the bridges. All major impacts to vehicular and water traffic will be communicated throughout the project, which is scheduled to complete summer of 2029.
