We’re so excited to have Mark as President of OLTA!

When I was installed as the President of the Oklahoma Land Title Association, over the weekend, I had no idea there would be cake involved. We have such a great staff at Pioneer. Thank you all, very much!

SENATORS, PLEASE VOTE NO ON HB3624!

This bill creates uncertainty in ad valorem taxation boundaries, which are critical to how property taxes are assessed.

The result? Delays, increased costs, and added risk for property owners, lenders, and county officials.

At a time when affordability matters, we should not be making real estate transactions more expensive.

SENATORS, PLEASE VOTE NO ON HB3619!

This bill puts Oklahoma’s proven title system at risk by creating uncertainty around county boundary determinations—without input from abstractors, title professionals, or real property attorneys. That uncertainty means higher costs, delays, and increased risk for Oklahoma consumers.

Don’t make real estate transactions more expensive and complicated. Listen to industry experts. Vote NO on HB3619.

Today we paid our final respects to our dear friend and past coworker. Ruth Foster worked for the company for 40 years. She was quiet, reserved and could be a fireball when riled up! She was a fantastic abstractor and taught several abstractors here the right way to do the job. She was a great mentor to many and a valued friend to all who knew her.

David Leo Hays, Chief Master Sergeant, United States Air Force (Ret.), dedicated 30 years of honorable service to his country. His career took him across the globe with assignments in Greenland, Germany, Louisiana, Southeast Asia, Tucson, and Omaha. During his early years in the Air Force, David met his first wife, Shirley, and the two were married on March 25, 1965.

David discovered a lifelong passion for cooking and delighted in sharing his creations with family and friends. Many of his cherished recipes continue to be passed down through younger generations, keeping beloved family traditions alive.

After retiring from the Air Force, David and Shirley returned to Wagoner, where he worked for Wagoner County Abstract for 20 years before fully retiring. Following Shirley’s passing, David later reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Norma, and the two married on February 26, 2017.

David was a huge OU Sooners and St. Louis Cardinals fan. If either team was playing, he could always be found cheering them on—and if they were losing, everyone knew to tread lightly. The first OU football game that David got to watch from heaven was them beating Alabama in a nail-biter.

David and Shirley also enjoyed collecting Department 56 Christmas Village pieces, spending countless hours attending events and hosting gatherings with the Oklahoma Department 56 Club.

He was preceded in death by parents John and Ethel Hays; wives Shirley Hays and Norma Hays; sister Wanda L. Posey; and nephew John Lowell Hays.

He is survived by his son John; stepchildren Teri, Ralph, Kathy, and Mark; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Dennis, Betty, Laverne, Mike, Arlene, Frank, and Ron; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family will greet guest on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Shipman Funeral Home in Wagoner, Oklahoma.

Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
