ENRG In Flow | Agent Spotlight
Meet Lena Kamai. On Maui serving Maui Island with a special focus on Department of Hawaiian Home Land beneficiaries navigating re-sells on leasehold land. Lena brings intentional listening, patience, and determination to every transaction.
Here's what she had to say:
What's working for you right now?
Socializing. Everyone does it, anyone can do it; but do you actually engage, enjoy, and take with you the information that was shared? This might sound like a simple and generic answer, but that's what is working for me. Intently listening without interruption is my key. Listen, interpret, and if provided enough information, possibly even predict. Listening allows you to stay the course, and in many instances get ahead of your clients or the transaction to create the best possible outcome.
What do you love most about being part of ENRG?
With respect, I'm not sure I would have ever looked into a national brokerage. As of right now, the best part of being a part of ENRG is my foundation here. It's Gina and her connections, capabilities, patience, and willingness to serve her clients, community, and her agents equally. I value being able to start everything new, together with my brokerage. It's moving forward and excelling unalone, if that makes sense; like a real family. Joining ENRG has brought into perspective a 'bigger' ohana. I know hardly 'no one' in the brokerage across the US and yet I find joy when I see a new agent join, a new listing, or especially a closing by ENRG Realty. Knowing a seller or buyer has been represented by an agent that carries similar values and professionalism means something dearly to me.
Any favorite resource, tool, or habit that's made your business/life easier lately?
So, the ENRG Hub is most helpful for pooling together all the resources and including updates, birthdays, meetings, announcements, etc. It's like a small scale social platform just for ENRG. If you know me, I may not be the most social media savvy, but I do use it with intent. Which brings me back to the beginning about how socializing works for me. I may not sit at coffee hours or hit every realtor activity - heck I'm a working mom and only human. In a modern world, our central technology is available in many forms, and taking advantage of it's use with intent can be the most meaningful, resourceful tool even if you don't know it.
Tell me about a recent moment that made you proud — big or small.
EASY ONE- Closing a 54 week escrow! Closing a transaction to a real estate professional may not sound like a BIG deal. However - closing on a Department of Hawaiian Home Land (DHHL leasehold) property in need dire of repair IS! Some agents might say "this property needs TLC" but really mean "this property needs a bulldozer" and this was ME. I am so proud to have stuck by the sellers throughout this mind bending transaction as navigating DHHL leaseholds are not easy. But the cherry on top was the buyers agent who ran with me the entire time, never letting her guard down, and seeing her buyers through and beyond! I am proud of myself for standing steadfast in many moments of despair (and I mean many) and ultimately creating relationships with truly deserving first time home buyers, their agent, and a wonderful escrow officer. This year was a 'teaching' year and I sure learned a lot about myself, my limits (what limits?!), my reliance on my broker, and support team. To make this even sweeter - this property was the 1st ENRG Realty closing on Maui~ cheee huuu!
We're proud to have you on the team, Lena!
