We are excited to announce that the Honolulu City Council voted to approve Keawalau and help us deliver much-needed affordable homes for kama‘āina, more options for shopping and dining, as well as new community gathering spaces to Waipahu. Mahalo for all of the support from the community and the thoughtful leadership of the City Council.

Congratulations to all of the new Council members on taking your oath of office! Thank you for your commitment to the community.

Three new Honolulu City Council members took the oaths of office Tuesday, Jan. 3; and with important issues rolling over from last year, they already have their hands full.

One way to helping local families thrive is providing more affordable housing options, particularly for ‘ohana in the workforce living paycheck to paycheck. A new report was released on Tuesday by the Aloha United Way reporting that more than 4 in 10 residents of Honolulu County either can barely afford the basic cost of living or are below thattThreshold. These families, called ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed households) are living right on the edge of financial stability. As a community, we must do better to help them.
