I'm a Millennial. I'm under forty, and I was raised one ear from slavery.
Every Juneteenth, I hear people ask why we're still talking about slavery, the Great Migration, redlining, and the long road to homeownership.
For me, the answer is personal.
My great-grandmother shared stories passed down from a family that included a man born into slavery. My grandfathers served in World War II and the Korean War. Their lives, sacrifices, and pursuit of opportunity shaped the generations that followed.
As a Realtor, investor, and Marine Corps veteran, I often think about how those experiences connect to housing, homeownership, and generational wealth today.
