PSA- Financial Wellness

Yeah so we all heard the interest rates dropped today. However, that doesn’t mean much to a lot of people, especially first time homebuyers. Why? It’s simple- the rate could be 1%- if you’re spending more than you’re saving or investing, you still cannot buy a home. We need to teach high school age kids and our own children about financial wellness- how to balance a bank account, how to invest in their future, how to establish credit, how to file a tax return and so on. As a society, we are spoiled. We think we need the latest cell phone, the most luxurious vehicle, designer clothing…we want the best of the best even if we cannot afford it. That’s how people get trapped into debt and never have the means to own anything. You need a nest egg for that down payment and closing costs- which are about $10k just to close! Skip the mall and that Starbucks and start saving. Otherwise that interest rate means nothing to you but a number. If you’re wondering about a home loan and what you can do to get yourself in a position to own real estate, message me.
