We turned our backyard shed (ADU) into a mid-term rental, and it’s been one of the smartest decisions we’ve made financially.

Mid-term rentals are having a moment, and for good reason. Why we ❤️ MTRs:
➡️ 30+ day minimum stays = less turnover, less hassle
➡️ No year long lease to lock you & tenants in
➡️ Little to no regulation (unlike STRs)
➡️ More income than a long-term lease without the turnover of an STR

In case you are new here - we are Tom and Dessira Tish. We are the Shedsie proprietors -custom design build backyard offices and ADUs. We’ve lived in our starter home in Walnut Creek - well - since we started living in Walnut Creek 25 years ago! We love small beautiful buildings and providing families a work from home solution that adds real daily value as well as real estate value. Just good quality living. We’ve have 3 kids, 3 dogs and a few chickens. We love travel, Tom obsesses soccer (Tottenham is his team), the boys are involved in Boy Scouts, Des has another business- luxury blankets - XO The Blanket - our daughter works for a builder and our oldest is in the Air Force. Weekends are filled with DIY projects, spending quality time, exploring all things California and far beyond. Follow to see what custom builds we will be working on next!
