This Bay Area painter and his son need your help.
I went to a listing appointment this weekend. But as Jeff and I talked through his options, it became clear he didnāt actually want to sell. He just needed more business.
Jeffās a house painter. Been doing it for over a decade, beautiful work. But he went from 80 jobs a year down to 17. Thatās what was driving the panic.
His son JJ has Down syndrome and Jeff has been his primary caregiver. That house isnāt just a house. Three of the six bedrooms are JJās. Warriors gear, coloring books, Legos. Every piece meticulously organized. His eyes lit up walking me through all three.
We spent the next 45 minutes figuring out how to make staying work. As realtors, itās our responsibility to identify why people are selling. And if thereās a better path, whether or not it benefits us, we have a duty to help them find it.
Before I left, JJ handed me a painting. Itās already on my refrigerator.
If youāre a Realtor in the Bay Area and you refer painters to your clients, please consider Jeff and JJ as a referral. š
