Aside from being an amazing song (and very fitting, given our brokerage name!), this song perfectly depicts why we do what we do as a business. We don't share much about our kids on social media for the sake of privacy, but they are a driving force in all we do- we want to create a God-centered legacy, in which we demonstrate to our kids how to serve, worship, and love God with all of our soul in EVERY area of life. We let them be a part of our work day (yes, they often come along to show houses!) because they are our first mission field.

And as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.- Joshua 24:15

What does it mean to be a “Christian” real estate brokerage? I have put a lot of thought into this, and honestly, was almost reluctant to “brand” ourselves this way. I don’t want Jesus to be just a selling point or a marketing technique. I don’t want Jesus to be the key to a “niche” market. My biggest fear has been not failing as a real estate agent, but misusing or failing to bear God’s name well.

So why did we do it? Well, what does it mean to be a “Christian” anything: a parent, a teacher, a plumber, a doctor? It’s not just about believing in Jesus and trying to recruit people who think like me. Following Jesus is about the decisions I make every day: how I spend my time, what my thoughts look like, how I interact with others, how I live my life. And how I engage in business. For me, putting ourselves out there as a Christian real estate brokerage is about accountability. I am putting myself in the position of being accountable to everyone who sees me in all I do. When I say I am a Christian to anyone, I bear a weighty responsibility to represent God, and that is a heavy and humbling thought. It causes me to check myself: am I being true to Scripture, am I treating others as Jesus would? I don’t identify as a Christian business lightly. I am now accountable to you, to anyone who reads this, to anyone I work with to give the utmost care to how I operate as a person and as a business owner.
