**trigger warning and long post 😅**
Packing up for our big move this week, I came across a small memory box I had tucked away years ago. Inside were the positive pregnancy tests from a pregnancy I never got to carry to term. It was a reminder of a chapter that shaped me far more deeply than most people ever knew.
Miscarriage is something many women go through, yet we rarely talk about it. For a long time, I carried the grief quietly, thinking it had to stay separate from my professional life. The truth is, experiences like these shape who we are as people, as parents, as leaders, and as coworkers.
Finding that box reminded me of the resilience we build in the moments no one sees. It reminded me that empathy matters. That showing up for others matters. That we never really know what someone is carrying when they walk into work each day.
It also reminded me how much these experiences influence the way I show up as a Realtor. Buying or selling a home often comes during life transitions—beautiful ones, hard ones, or sometimes both at the same time. I take that responsibility seriously. My clients trust me with their milestones, their emotions, their families, and their futures. Moments like this remind me why empathy is not just helpful in my work, it is essential.
I am sharing this not for sympathy but because I believe stories like this deserve space, especially for the women balancing careers, families, and silent battles.
If you have walked through something similar, you are not alone. And if you have not but you are supporting someone who has, your compassion goes further than you know.
With all my love,
Bailea
