I recently assisted this young couple in purchasing this beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath house in Lignum, Va on 3 acres with a detached 2 car garage and their monthly mortgage is comparable to what they were paying in rent for a 2 bedroom apartment! Just a couple of tips for First time home buyers; Pay off all debt and build and emergency fund (you never know when you’ll need it), Determine how much house you can actually afford (you’d be surprised with today’s interest rates), Save for a down payment to lower your monthly mortgage, save for closing costs, and please make sure to get pre approved for a loan. We are in a very competitive market and you want to have the upper hand.
