"🍂 Week 1 of our Fall Home Maintenance Checklist: Roof & Gutters!

We're kicking off our 9-week fall series by working through our Fall Home Maintenance Checklist one section at a time. First up is the top of your house. Clogged gutters are one of the most common causes of basement water we find during inspections, because water that can't drain spills over and pools against the foundation.

From the Roof & Gutters section of the checklist:
✅ Clean gutters and downspouts once most leaves have dropped
✅ Make sure downspouts carry water 4–6 feet away from the foundation
✅ From the ground (binoculars help!), look for loose, damaged or missing shingles
✅ Check flashing around the chimney and vents

🪜 Safety first: if your roof is steep or high, leave the climbing to a pro.
