He grew up in Bankhead. Now he's rebuilding it...
T.I. officially opened Intrada Westside in January 2025 — a 143-unit affordable housing development carved out of a former shopping center in the Atlanta neighborhood where he spent his childhood. The apartments are designed for low and moderate-income families, but what sets this project apart is that 25 units are reserved specifically for homeless youth, offering them stable, long-term housing when they need it most.
This isn't a vanity project with his name on a plaque. The development includes a full community center with supportive resources and programming — the kind of infrastructure that addresses housing insecurity at its root. T.I. took the success that lifted him out of Bankhead and channeled it back into the place that shaped him, building something that will outlast any album or award.
There's a difference between giving back to your community and actually rebuilding it. This is the latter.
