Status: PENDING! It was an amazing house and it didn’t last long. Seven days on market and it’s already gone. It’s served its residents well for 101 years and come this august it will be home to a new family in DC. I first visited the Navy Yard in the fall of 2008 to look at a property for sale in the Capper area. It was pretty forlorn and rundown with most of the demolition completed and some new Capper Carrollsburg Townhomes under construction. I returned here in the spring of 2010 after a huge snowstorm--there were a lot more CC Townhomes, but still a lot of vacant lots. When I walk the neighborhood now I am profoundly struck by how special this neighborhood has become and what a great place to live it is! I am not sure there is a better neighborhood in DC to live whether you or young or old!
