Our values shine brightest in the moments that matter most.

Last week, a Washington Gas pipe repair disrupted our residents' ability to use their gas stoves at one of our communities. And, in pure Dweck fashion, more than 30 team members from across our portfolio showed up to help.

For three days, they served breakfast and dinner to our residents, checked in on everyone, and looked out for one another. Wherever there was a need, someone stepped in. Side by side, they went into more than 300 apartments to shut off the gas valve on every stove and later safely restore it.

What moved us most was the spirit behind it all. When a resident thanked them, their reply was simple:

“We are family. This is what we do for each other. This is what we do for our residents. This is who we are.”

That says it all. Being a Dweckster means showing up when someone needs you, jumping in without being asked, and caring for residents as neighbors and for one another as family.

We’re deeply grateful for the humility, grace, talent, generosity, and heart our Dwecksters bring in extraordinary moments like this one and every ordinary day in between.

To our Crystal Square team and every Dweckster who stepped up: thank you for reminding us, once again, who we are.

Our Dwecksters deserve to be celebrated, so we made a day of it! 🍂 The team recently swapped their usual routines for a day at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts for our Employee Appreciation Fall Festival, complete with a scavenger hunt, games, barbecue, pumpkin painting, and more. 🎃 In true Dweck Properties fashion, the team also came together to assemble 400 personal care packages for local homeless shelters. To every Dweckster who makes Dweck what it is: thank you; we appreciate you!

A little pink, a shared purpose. 🎀💗

Last Tuesday, our team came together in pink to support ’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement. Each employee pictured wearing pink represents a $10 donation toward lifesaving breast cancer research and programs that promote health equity.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re proud to turn team spirit into meaningful support. Look for more from our pink-filled day on the blog soon! 💕

An evening of elegance, connection, and giving back. 🤍

Our Noire employee resource group brought Dwecksters together for an intimate evening filled with delicious light bites, inviting music, and support for N Street Village.

Thanks to everyone who contributed, we collected 144 requested items to help meet the needs of those N Street Village serves. A heartfelt thank-you to Noire for hosting and to our Dwecksters for making generosity part of the celebration!

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we encourage every woman to prioritize her health. 💗

Mammograms can help detect breast cancer early, sometimes before symptoms appear, when it may be easier to treat. Talk with your healthcare provider about your personal risk and the screening schedule that is right for you.

To those who have been diagnosed, are currently undergoing treatment, are celebrating survivorship, or are honoring the memory of someone they love: you are seen, supported, and never alone.

Schedule your screening, encourage someone you love to do the same, and continue spreading awareness. Early detection matters.

As part of Dweck’s Week of Service, our HQ team spent the day volunteering at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clagett Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Together, we rolled up our sleeves, cleared weeds, and harvested squash to support the farm’s work.

Clagett Farm is a 283-acre regenerative farm that grows certified organic vegetables while using climate-friendly practices designed to improve soil health, food quality, and water quality. The farm also works to make fresh produce accessible throughout the community, donating more than 30% of its weekly harvest to local food banks and food-rescue partners.

Our HQ team was just one part of Dweck’s Week of Service! Dwecksters from across our communities volunteered with organizations throughout the region. Stay tuned for our upcoming blog, where we’ll highlight the different places we served and the impact our teams made together.
