DCAR is committed to members’ safety, and we want you to stay informed. Check out some resources from NAR!

NAR’s Safety Program was created to educate and empower REALTORS® to avoid job-related risks and to create a safety plan for themselves. DCAR PPC Member Terinee Bonds testified before the Committee of the Whole this morning in favor of the Tax Equity Amendment Act. This would bring the District into compliance with recent supreme court jurisprudence that prohibits property owners from losing more of their equity in their homes than the amount of their debts and costs during tax sales.

“As a REALTOR, working with District residents, I see firsthand how difficult it can be to achieve homeownership and how the equity built in a home can become a family’s financial stability and long-term wealth. For many owners, that equity represents generations of investments in their home and their community. Those efforts should be recognized and any remaining equity should be returned to them after any financial challenges are resolved.” Terinee Bonds
