Today, we honor Juneteenth, a celebration of freedom, hope, and perseverance.

As we remember the significance of this day, we also celebrate the strength of communities coming together to uplift one another and create opportunities for a brighter future.

At the Mission, we believe every person is created with God-given dignity and worth. Through shelter, food, education, workforce development, and compassionate care, we are committed to helping our neighbors move from crisis to stability and hope.

Happy Juneteenth from all of us at Central Union Mission.

These are the faces of the Mission.

Not statistics. Not numbers. Not projects.

People.

People with dreams, struggles, victories, setbacks, families, and stories that matter.

Every smile in this video is a reminder that hope is powerful, compassion changes lives, no one should walk alone, and that God’s love is unconditional.

Thank you for helping us serve our neighbors with dignity, love, and the hope of Christ.

A computer is more than a device, it's a gateway to opportunity, education, employment, and connection.

This week, our Mission: NOVA team had the joy of placing 16 computers into the hands of families in need, empowering them with the tools to thrive in today's digital world. Each computer represents another step toward self-sufficiency and life transformation.

We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Computer CORE, whose mission is to bridge the digital literacy gap in underserved communities one family at a time. Together, we're helping families gain access to the resources and opportunities that can change the trajectory of their future.

To God be the glory for the lives being impacted and the doors being opened!

What does hope look like?

Sometimes it looks like a safe place for a family to land.
Sometimes it looks like a child smiling again.
Sometimes it looks like a community refusing to give up on its neighbors.

Every day, lives are being changed through the power of compassion, practical support, and the love of Christ.

Watch this and tell us in the comments: What person, place, or moment gave you hope when you needed it most?

Three mornings. Countless acts of service.

We were blessed to welcome a group of young volunteers from Valley Ridge Church in Lewisville, Texas, who spent part of their summer serving at the Mission. From helping care for our facilities to encouraging our staff with their enthusiasm and servant-hearted attitude, they reminded us that every act of kindness can make a difference.

Thank you for investing your time, energy, and hearts into this ministry. We are grateful for each of you and pray God continues to guide and bless your journey of faith and service.

Three days. Three facilities. One mission: sharing the love of Jesus!

A huge thank you to our friends from Passion City Church DC for serving across all of Central Union Mission's ministries as part of their LOVE DC campaign. From Mission: NOVA in Northern Virginia, to our Men's Shelter in downtown DC, to our Comprehensive Family Resource Center on the Maryland border, these amazing volunteers showed up with servant hearts and a passion to love their neighbors. They made a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. We're deeply grateful for the way they spread out across the Mission and poured out God's love in such tangible ways.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and reminding our community that they are seen, valued, and loved. ❤️
