A few hours of service can make a BIG difference! 💙

We’re so grateful for this wonderful group of youth from Immanuel Christian School - Springfield, VA who recently joined our Mission: NOVA team and regular volunteers for a morning of serving our neighbors. 🙌

From carrying boxes and tackling some much-needed deep cleaning to helping prepare our facility for a busy day of ministry, their extra hands helped get Mission: NOVA ready to serve:

📚 15 students in ESL and Ayuda classes
👕 Our clothing room & pantry
🩺 A new blood pressure cuff donated by the American Heart Association
🥫 And approximately 150 families served through our food pantry!

Thank you, ICS, for showing what it looks like to serve with willing hearts and joyful hands! We’re so thankful for every volunteer who helps make ministry at Mission: NOVA possible. ❤️

A Monday evening well spent! ❤️ Nia, Georgie, Bea and Calla rolled up their sleeves and lent a helping hand during dinner service at the Mission. From serving meals to sharing smiles, their kindness made a difference.

We’re grateful they chose to spend part of their evening serving others and showing our guests the love of Christ in a practical way. 🙌

A morning of service, encouragement, and prayer! ❤️

The Mission’s Men’s Shelter is grateful for the wonderful volunteers from Washington Community Fellowship, who recently spent the morning lending a hand with upkeep, sharing words of encouragement, and lifting our guests up in heartfelt prayer.

Thank you for showing up with willing hands and compassionate hearts. Your time, kindness, and prayers make a meaningful difference! 🙏

Work hard, serve well, and have FUN! 💦😂

What better way to wrap up summer and kick off the Labor Day weekend than with a little fun at Camp Bennett?!

Last week at our staff picnic, Our Mission team enjoyed fellowship, games, plenty of laughter, and because apparently we’re still kids at heart, a full-on water balloon fight!

We’re so blessed and grateful to serve alongside such an incredible team. Days like this are a great reminder that the work we do is about more than what happens at our desks, it’s also about the people we get to do it with. ❤️

Here’s to a summer well spent, a holiday weekend well earned, and a team that knows how to have a good time! 🙌

A big thank-you to our friends at Walker Memorial Baptist Church for lending a hand at the Mission’s Men’s Shelter! Your willingness to serve and spend some time with our guests is a beautiful reminder that sometimes the greatest gift is simply showing up.

This Labor Day, the men at the Mission’s shelter took a moment to do something we don’t always make enough time for: stop. Rest. Gather. Celebrate.

The dining room was transformed, a special meal was served, and the table became a place of fellowship, laughter, gratitude, and connection.

As we closed out the summer, we were reminded that life is about more than the work we do. There is goodness in gathering around a table. There is joy in sharing a meal. There is peace in taking a breath and simply being together in fellowship. Through it all, we remembered the One who provides every good gift.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Here’s to a day of rest, fellowship, and remembering just how good God is. ❤️

What does it really take to end homelessness?

It takes more than a bed for the night. It takes compassion, accountability, community, and a path toward lasting change.

The Mission was recently featured by WORLD in a thoughtful look at the ongoing debate over how our nation should respond to homelessness.

At the Mission, we believe people need both a place of safety today and a pathway toward a better tomorrow. That means meeting immediate needs while also addressing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical challenges that can keep someone trapped in homelessness. The goal isn't simply to survive homelessness. It's restoration.
