Comparing our little Japanese road trip to a U.S. road trip...

Stopping for ice cream at a random roadside farm. Just like a U.S. road trip!

Stumbling upon a 500-year-old Buddhist temple that was completely deserted apart from a few industrious monks. Only on a Japanese road trip!

Driving on the opposite side of the road and the opposite side of the car. 😲 I adapted pretty quickly though apart from turning on the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal a few hundred times!

I had so much anxiety about navigating Tokyo, but it really wasn't that hard with the help of these two goofballs. Oh, and best ramen of my life today. This adventure has just begun, can't wait to see what else is in store for us!

It's been a minute since I've taken myself out to dinner. I really do enjoy solo dining sometimes, and this amazing feast at .dc did not disappoint. Puri, sunchoke chaat, mushroom biryani, black daal burrata, raita, za'atar naan.

Of course it would end up being one of the coldest nights of the winter for the big glamping bday party. We never would have made it without the portable heaters. A lovely weekend was still had by all. Thanks to and .peconom for helping to make it happen and Memaw and Grandpa for coming and even hanging out at the campsite in the windy cold.

It's Fastnacht Day!! And this year I got to make them with my family which made them taste even better.

This is how we do them. Square (or triangle) shaped with molasses and some cinnamon and sugar. No potatoes. No hole. No powdered sugar.
