In an industry that is quickly pivoting to digital, where information is readily available at your fingertips, and most home searches begin online – it’s important to differentiate you and your business. Because of that, I’m so excited to share a recent project of mine.

They say that if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life, and I have no idea who said that, but that’s hilarious and incredibly untrue. Taking a moment to share a "funny" story with you and to show that not everything goes quite according to plan in this business.

First, I'm proud to say that this stunning Columbia Heights condo just sold having gone under contract in one weekend, for over list price with great terms. My fantastic sellers trusted my opinion on some pre-market sprucing and staging from half way across the country. The buyer was well approved and the inspection was flawless - we love to see it.

Suddenly, if you remember earlier this month we had completely random, tornado force winds ripping through DC. These winds were strong enough to rip my clients 2.5 year old roof off the top of their penthouse condo ONE WEEK before closing. Clearly this could have become a larger issue pretty quickly so we had to work fast.

Long story short, we discovered the problem on a Monday, by Tuesday I had my go-to roofing company out there to inspect and by Thursday we had a BRAND NEW roof just in time to make settlement. These things happen, and its our job as experienced agents to roll with the punches, satisfy the contract + the buyers + the sellers and get these properties to settlement.

Honestly, if this were to happen to me in the beginning of my career who knows how I would have handled it but after 6 years in the business - calmer minds always prevail.
