Market Updates for Condos: Fannie Mac and Freddie Mac are changing lending requirements and qualifications for buildings nationwide.

Here's how it affects the DMV:

Condo financing rules were updated this year. Here's what's worth knowing if you're buying or selling in the DMV:

🏠 Most condo buildings now go through a standard underwriting review (no longer limited/streamlined reviews).

🏠 Smaller buildings (10 units or fewer) often qualify for a simpler approval process.

🏠 HOA reserve requirements moved from 10% to 15% (Prepare your building!).

🏠 Some buildings may need extra documentation on insurance

Buying? Check in with your lender early. Selling? Have your HOA docs on hand.
