Major milestone alert! 🚨 We are thrilled to announce another major step forward in our ongoing commitment to Downtown Worcester.

Plans are officially advancing for the historic redevelopment of 401–409 Main Street! This past week, the project reached a crucial benchmark by being selected to participate in the Commonwealth’s Housing Development Incentive Program (HDIP). 🏙️✨

Historically known as the Clark Block—and remembered by generations as the longtime home of Shacks Clothes—this iconic, long-vacant building will be thoughtfully transformed through adaptive reuse into 48 new rental apartments, including five affordable housing units.

As our Founder & CEO Bo Menkiti notes, “Worcester has tremendous momentum... initiatives like HDIP help move important projects forward. We remain committed to investing in Worcester and creating places that contribute to the city’s continued growth.”
